Agricultural Research and Development Station Turda (ARDS) is designed to provide most of the biological material (varieties and hybrids) technology for major field crops for Central, North and Northwest ofTransylvania.

The Council of Ministers decision no. in 2731 of 28 December 1956 establishing the Research Institute for the corn crop Bottom was founded and experimental stations FOR TURDA corn crop. The resort was originally organized - with effect from February 1, 1957 - the farm perimeter Agricultural School Teaching Centre No.1 Turda unit which was coordinated by the Agricultural Institute of Higher Education in Cluj.
